I think I will try to write some articles in English in the future – starting with this one. Since some of my readers are non-German speaking, others do not care too much about English writing, there are the ones left who might not enjoy it.
My hope it that in the end all of you do not mind but it would be nice to let me know if you have any problems with it.
Second I need to apologize for all mistakes in spelling and grammar I am going do in this and the following entries.
But now to the reason of my writing:
Yesterday was once again one of the after-work beer Fridays. And as it turns out to become a habit we had more than one beer. It is really fun to go out with the guys but somehow theses many beers are nothing for me. Imagine this: One of us starts out buying a beer for all. To somehow get even there is everyones turn. With we being about 8 to 10 people… Well you do the math.
The beers are just small size (300ml) but again, you do the math. After the 6th beer it does not taste that good any more but someone always comes with another one. I can feel the alcohol and without the standard phrase of a drunk person “I am not drunk”, I would say that I still could handle a couple more without feeling as drunk as in Germany after 3 half-liter beer.
The bad thing comes with the naxt day. No headache but everything is so slow on the day after. I did not want to do too many things – just working on my pictures but in my opinion the slow-feeling is not good at all.
So what I am trying to do next time: I will not drink many beers. Max would be set to 3. The good thing is that every bar has to server tab water (Leitungswasser) by law (as far as I understood). So it is no problem to get something to drink even for free.
To tell you just a little about the evening, I start out with telling you where we startet. It was at North Sydney – I had to go over the bridge – an a colleague and me arrived 1 hour late (we need about 1 hour to get there and they started at 5:30pm). Just then the others wanted to change location and hat already two glasses of beer. The second location was quiet nice. A “hotel” – as the bars all are called – in an old looking church-cottage building. Drinks and wedges later we decided to go to Sydney CBD to a club. From about 9:30pm to 2am we stayed there and more or less enjoyed the party. At least I have to say that surprisingly the DJ was playing not the standard Aussi party music (with the repeating of 3 songs every 30 to 60 minutes). Close to the time I left we had some problems because one of us got kicked out without doing anything. Assuring what happened since we first did not know about it, another one of us calling after him got kicked out too. There was a little bit of confusion going on and after all was clear again, I had enough and went home, too. The other left stayed there longer. Later I heard that because the place was crowded the security just randomly kicked people out – of cause only guys.
That was the evening and today it the weekend 😉 finally…
