On the 12. December I went for a little walk to get thing off my mind. I ended up at the Opera House and Botanic garden. The front part of the Opera House was completely prohibited for access, because of Oprah Winfrey came to Sydney on the 14th. Passing through the the Opera, I went to Botanic Garden, spent some time there.

When I went home, I took a wrong turn and passed by a very interesting sight. Behind the trucks for cutting the video feeds of the show, there were a lot of energy cables laying around. Also, there were a bunch of very familiar looking cables: indoor network cables – probably Cat. 5. Looking closer, I found another type of cables: fiber channel. Not that they bothered to use the outdoor type, they used the very thin indoor ones. For those of you not familiar with the problem there, fiber channel cables are very sensitive and fragile and they are easy to break. If you have a look at them on the picture below, you can imagine the rushing heartbeats of a professional Network guy like me. Not to mention that anyone could just come by and cut them.
