AVM Fritz!Box in Australia

For all of you, who want to use the wonderful and best DSL-Router “Fritz!Box” in Australia or any other country, which uses ANNEX A instead of the supported ANNEX B, here is how you can do it.

Just follow the few directions below:

activate Telnet
 telnet <IP address of FB>
 echo "kernel_args annex=A" > /proc/sys/urlader/environment
 echo "annex A" > /proc/sys/urlader/environment
 reboot

Now you need to set up your DSL-Account and there you go.

Additionally to the commands above, you need to execute the following:

echo "annex A" > /proc/sys/urlader/annex

Do not forget that you might need to change the VPI/VCI values in the web interface as well as the ppp protocol.
