After watching the first two movies, I can definitely say that the second is the best. What about this one. Well, it is in 3D and I watched it in 2D. Maybe this influenced the experience but actually, I do not think so. The main problem I had, were the 3D effects like objects flying towards the camera and moves which scream, “Here, we show this in 3D”. Besides this problem, I am very certain that this time they used CG to animate the actors while they performed dances. I do not understand why the director decided to do this, because the dancing was not as good and complicated as in the second movie. I guess it was easier to post convert the movie into 3D.
This is all very sad, because it made a fairly bad movie very bad. After all I have to rate this movie compared to the other three and take into account that they already had a “good”, descent working framework but messed it up totally by messing around with 3D – but what other reason would have been there to make a third one without 3D.
