After posting my last entry I had a walk around the camping area and stumbled upon a private hut next to it. I saw someone walking around. I said hallo and after 10 minutes talk, they invited me for a drink. We talked till about 22:00. They are two couples (sisters), one from Dunedin about 4h drive, the other from T… a town further north about 2h away.
The guy from Dunedin came from Germany in the 60s, where he worked at a newspaper and than coal mining. Than he stopped that and went to Australia, after Canada turned him down. He stayed there for a little while and than migrated to new Zealand. He found work at Dunedin as a chimney builder, a 190 feet high one and earned good money with it, since he got extra because of high construction. In the end he earned his living as a manager for a company, which produces fridges and so on (Elba and price or so).
It was a great evening.
I put up my tent in the dark, just in time because now it started raining and on the other side of the lake started a thunderstorm.
Good night everyone.
