After three weeks without Internet I finally got the line set up on the 4 Juli. Due to deregulation of the telecommunication market similar to Germany, the technician did not connect the line all the way through to our apartment. After a long conversation on the 5. July with my provider they told me that I am responsible for the in-house cabling. Since I already paied $120 setup fee, I escalated the issue to their Home Phone technician department.
On the 6. July I had to use internet and estimated another week or two go by until the cabling was finally finished. So, I did it myself and was lucky to find the correct cable (of cause all were unlabled) at first try. After one hour of making sure not to break anybodies line, cleaning wires and sockets, I finally managed to get internet.
It is still not perfect. The modem makes an ADSL training every once in a while and disconnects for that time. Additionally, our speed is far below what we ordered. about 4-5Mbit instead of 24Mbit. I guess I will have to talk to them again. For now, I am just glad to be online again.
